01 — World Building & Narrative
A complete fictional history for Greythorne Institute, including its founding, timeline, seasonal presentations, internal mythology, staff, students, and recurring figures such as Yazuki Imano and Kevin Mori.
02 — Visual Identity System
A full institutional identity built through the Greythorne crest, wordmarks, typography, color palette, identification codes, document structures, tartan, paisley, and archival reproduction methods.
03 — Institutional Archive
Student records, staff identification, enrollment forms, disciplinary documents, medical reports, incident files, invitations, exam sheets, access bands, folders, and other administrative materials.
04 — Fashion & Garment System
Uniform concepts, garment graphics, plaid and paisley development, labels, construction details, seasonal documentation, and presentation materials created as part of the fictional academy.
05 — Editorial & Artifact Design
A fabricated Wikipedia archive, historical writing, captions, timelines, identification cards, packaging, printed matter, recovered objects, and ephemera designed to make the institution feel documented over time.
06 — Digital Experience
An interactive desktop-style website where visitors navigate the project through student files, staff records, season archives, garment documentation, incident reports, and recovered institutional objects.
Greythorne Institute is a fictional fashion label framed as a private academy and institutional archive. Developed in GDVX 502, the project explores how branding can extend beyond a logo or collection and become a complete fictional world.
Rather than presenting the label through a conventional campaign, the identity is constructed through uniforms, student records, staff identification, invitations, incident reports, garment documentation, institutional objects, and fabricated historical material. Each artifact contributes to the impression that Greythorne existed as a functioning institution with its own rules, rituals, characters, and unresolved history.
The final system blurs the boundary between fashion branding, documentation, archive design, and narrative world-building.
DESIGN APPROACH
Greythorne presents a fashion label as a fictional institution rather than a commercial brand. Its visual system combines Japanese fashion, school uniforms, bureaucratic documents, archival photography, serif typography, halftones, tartan, paisley, and aged reproductions.
The website turns the project into a digital desktop where visitors explore student files, staff records, garments, incidents, seasons, and recovered ephemera.
